Susan Komen Race for the cure.
Last year we had 2 school buses leave from Evergreen Park (buses compliments of Mike Cinotti, in honor of his mother) and attend the walk. We were true warriors that day. It rained buckets, and the walk was a mud crawl. However Team Heidi was in the top 10 for raising money. I am doing it again this year, but hoping for sunshine. New walk location, new weather!!
If we get enough people together we can look into chipping in on buses to get us there. Remember the pink bagels on the bus (compliments of the Schaberick family)? It was fun despite the conditions. We all had pink hard hats and pink flashing sunglasses (no sun) and pins. The kids enjoy it.
I would love to see some of the local sports team walk with us. Great for soccer, basketball, softball, baseball and football teams. You do not need to be an aggressive money raiser to join. Register and just show your concern for the disease. You all will someday, unfortunately, know someone that this disease effects.
Please join me and my family stomp out this disease. I want save boobies for my daughters in their future. It is a great day out. We leave in the morning and are usually back by noon. It's a half day for a great cause. Let's fill the buses again!!
